Demonology is the religious study of demons. Most major religions have a study of demons, their history, hierarchies, rankings and intelligence. As stated earlier there are many religions that study demons; Christians, Jewish, Zoroastrian, Islamic, Buddhism, and Hinduism for example. Demonologists, as a discipline, incorporate the study of theology, psychology (both normal and abnormal), philosophy, anthropology, chemistry, biology, physics, and metaphysics. This broad study of many fields helps a Demonologist determine whether there is a demonic entity at work. A Demonologist will often work closely with the Clergy. Many theories make up the study of demons, where some religions say demons are negative and malevolent, while others say they can be both good and evil, and interact with people on a daily basis. A Demonologist uses the word of God and his Faith in the Word, to bind and identify a demoniacal entity. They cannot rid demons from someone or a place only an Exorcist can do that depending on the severity of the situation. Also this is not a field to be taken lightly. It is to be taken very seriously as does all well-respected Demonologists and Clergy. Someone who is unknowing or unprepared could feel lasting effects of a demonic encounter for years to come. Theories are abound on how a demonic spirit gains ‘permission’ to a house. Ouija boards, séances, automatic writings, mediums or psychics unwittingly making contact with an intelligent negative being, black magic rituals and other ways just as easy as making a deal with the devil. These are some examples of gaining a foothold in a persons life. Infestation is the first step in a demonic ‘haunt’. It usually comes onslow with rapping and scratching on the walls. Usually three knocks(three is significant, because it defiles the holy trinity), footsteps can be heard throughout the house. A room may feel spooky or creepy to the homeowners. Also they may feel a ‘presence’ in the house. They also may begin to wake up in the middle of the night (3:00 a.m.). Objectsmay move and the person or persons may begin to feel a sense of anxiety as oppression sets in. Oppression means that the people in the house are being taken over by the negative entity. The demonic entities sole purpose is to break the freewill of the person. Both psychologically and physically. The spirit of the person will tried to broken with whispering, moaning, disgusting smells, loud knocking, levitation of objects. People have been punched, strangled, cut, burnt. Just an all out destruction of the persons spirit, both physically and mentally. As all of these events are going on, it also is breaking the mental stability of the victim as they slowly lose their grip on what is real and what is imagined. This is an all assault on the senses.Usually one person is singled out, the weakest psychologically, as wellas the one who would be in the house the most. Two people might be able to see the pattern of oppression . So usually one victim is chosen. One person might also fear ridicule if they told of all their horrific, frightful events that had been happening to them. As doubt sets in that these events are actually happening the persons sanity becomes at risk. The ultimate goal is possession. If not possession then to drive the person to murder or commit suicide or both. Possession being the ultimate goal, after that the demonic entity takes over the person, and soul, meaning the person has no free will to control their body, and its goal is the destruction of the body and all around them. The only way to rid the demon from the body is through an Exorcism. The word ‘Exorcism’ comes form the Greek word ‘Exousia’ meaning ‘Oath’ and translates into ‘Adjure’ in Latin and English. To exorcise a demon it means to “Put the spirit or Demon on oath” or invoking a higher authority to compel the entity to act in a way contrary to its wishes. Clergy will perform the ritual calling on the name of God. If a demonic or negativespirit exists in the house or person, it has to contend with the wrath of God. There are different rites of Exorcism but the ultimate goal is freeing the persons souls from the clutches of the demonic entity. Incubus is a demon under the guise of a male that seduces and or rapes women while they sleep. Succubus is a demon under the guise of a female that seduces and or rapes men in their sleep. Both are one in the same, for a demon is not labeled male or female only as something that is not human. A demon has never walked the earth in human form, and is intelligent, deceptive, it lies and it only goal is seeing the downfall of mankind!! They also have the power to manipulate objects and gravity and the physical plane we live in. They cannot create, only manipulate. This page covers some of the major points of a Demonologists field and studies, but of course this is only the tip of the iceberg of knowledge to be shared and learned.
